Masque Sounds' PWS Division founder interviewed by Sports Video Group James Stoffo, founder of Professional Wireless Systems (PWS), a division of Masque Sound, will handle all of the entertainment RF engineering for the use of wireless mics and in-ear monitors for the entertainment side of the broadcast. That includes the pre-game entertainment like the national anthem, halftime entertainment, and postgame entertainment and the Lombardy trophy presentation to the champion.

Jonas, a rock phenomenon whose hit records and riveting stage presence pulled SRO crowds throughout his recent Canadian tour expanded his international profile with the completion of a feature-length DVD. Released in November, Jonas Live As We Roll achieved Platinum status in December, with sales exceeding 10,000 copies.

Masque Sound PWS Division Design/Installs Wireless System For QVC
Professional Wireless Systems (PWS), a Masque Sound company, recently designed and installed the wireless system for QVC production facility. QVC , the leader in electronic retailing, broadcasts live 24 hours a day, 364 days a year, and reaches approximately 96% of all U.S. cable homes, as well as over 23 million satellite homes. The QVC receiver and transmitter was the largest antenna system Florida-based PWS has installed to date.

The show is touring with a NEXO GEO T tangent array system, the choice of front-of-house engineer Colin Boland who used it on the 2004 world tour by Sarah Brightman. Masque Sound, from New Jersey, is equipping the show, and has sourced the GEO T system from Concert Systems USA, which is based in Mississipi and Florida.

Queen's Music Hits the Theater Stage, Rock 'N' Roll Style
Masque Sound provides L-Acoustics rig for the Paris Las Vegas opening of We Will Rock You, comprising twin left/right hangs of 10 V-DOSC cabinets with two dV-DOSC applied to front-fill. Ten additional dv-DOSC are flown in a center array, while four co-ax MTD108a systems provide coverage for the rest of the audience.

Behind the Masque

Masque Sounds’ John Kilgore Mixes John Adams’ 9/11 Tribute
On the Transmigration of Souls (Nonesuch), a moving orchestral work by composer John Adams has been nominated for the Best Classical Album of 2004 Grammy Award. Commissioned by the New York Philharmonic and Lincoln Center, the piece was created as a tribute to the victims of the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center.

Masque Gets Camco
New York City's Masque Sound has ordered more than 100 Vortex 6 amplifiers from German manufacturer Camco, with further orders in the pipeline. The new amps are being specified for live concert and touring events, and are playing a key role in Masque's system design for We Will Rock You, a new musical opening at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.

SuperBowl XXXVII (Jan 03)
Professional Wireless Systems (PWS), a division of Masque Sound, has successfully completed its seventh consecutive year of involvement with the SuperBowl, which continues to be the premier sporting event of the year. RF engineers James Stoffo, Jason Eskew and John Garrido were in charge of the wireless microphones and in ear monitors used by the various entertainers for the pre-game, half time and post game productions. Entertainers included Shania Twain, Sting, Carlos Santana, Bon Jovi, No Doubt, Dixie Chicks, Celine Dion, Michelle Branch and Beyonce Knowles. |

Masque at 2002 GQ Awards
Masque Sound provides gear and crew for the 2002 GQ Man of the Year Awards at the Hammerstein Ballroom, October 16. Like most awards shows, it's a big, relatively complex system that has to split three ways. The PA is a V-Dosc flown rig of 20 cabinets with a PM-1D, the monitor system is all Firehouse, with a Heritage 3000. Michael Ward was the ever-illustrious system tech, with Joey Hipp and Chris Prinzivalli as A-2's. |

Masque gears up for MacWorld for the fourth year in a row
The MacWorld Expo, an annual event at the Javits Center, will be held this year on July 17. Masque provides the system for an audience of 8000-10,000, designed by Rich Halvorson. We also provide the system for the concurrent, smaller, Analyst meeting. Michael Ward and Greg Matteis will be on site as system techs/A-2's. |

Masque provides audio services for Coca-Cola’s annual shareholders meeting
This event, produced by Imagination, was a star-studded affair held at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Bon Jovi, comedian David Chappelle, Donald Sutherland, Wynton Marsalis, Charlie Rose and Muhammad Ali all participated in the event. Masque provided gear and personnel for both the show and the themed walkways and common areas that surround the theatre. A myriad of gear was used for the event including 44 channels of Sennheiser 1046 wireless, 16 DVdosc, two Midas Heritage 3000s, a Heritage 1000, a Yamaha PM 4000, and a PM 4000M. John Kilgore ran the playback for the show which consisted of a ProTools rig for editing and 16 channels of audio locked to time code coming from 2 Tascam MX-24/24s. The show was a great success for Coke and for Masque Sound.
